Flagging

Flags made in China, to be claimed on expenses by MPs who bizarrely flew them inside their houses, and to be flown from public buildings because people "expected" it despite never having seen it before, and indeed despite having no idea what those buildings were. Fly them from the foodbanks, to remind us how lucky we were to be getting 40 per cent more nuclear weapons with which to guard those facilities.

We never went in for this kind of thing when torture by Forces personnel abroad was still liable to prosecution, when murder by State agents at home was still illegal, and when peaceful protest was not a criminal offence. In other words, we never went in for this kind of thing when we still had anything to be proud of.
