Saudi Arabia inspires, directs, funds, and arms the people who not only kill British Forces personnel in Afghanistan and Iraq, a problem that it would be easy to solve, but also stage attacks right here on the streets of the United Kingdom. To arm Saudi Arabia is a suicidal act.
Boris Johnson probably does not really want to arm Saudi Arabia. But he owes a section of his party a bit of red meat after sanctioning several Saudis yesterday. And that section is back in control of the Labour Party, so he knows that he will have no problem there.
