In The End, We Will Remember

"In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends."

Thus did Richard Burgon quote Martin Luther King in the first two speeches that I ever heard Richard deliver, one on the day before the 2016 Durham Miners' Gala, and the other to the crowd of 200,000 or more assembled on that occasion.

Much has changed since then, including the occupancy of the parliamentary seat of North West Durham. Ostensibly the Chosen One, the coming champion of the Left, Laura Pidcock has said nothing in defence of Chris Williamson, nothing in defence of Julian Assange, and now nothing in defence of Richard Burgon, either.

Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. It has become a local commonplace that I am on 30-30-30 with Labour and the Conservatives here at North West Durham, so that any one of us could be the First Past the Post. I will stand for this seat, if I can raise the £10,000 necessary to mount a serious campaign. Please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.

"In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends."
