You Wait For Ages

I very much hope that Labour is serious about taking back control of the bus network, and about restoring it to its former glory, indeed developing it well beyond anything in the past.

I suppose that if you have to use the "climate change" argument, then you do have to use it, although that is not really what this is about.

And how much will it cost? Less than a war, that's how much.

If Labour is indeed serious about this, then it needs to remove the Leadership of Durham County Council.

That Leadership has a positively psychotic vendetta against buses, manifesting the same fanatical hatred of the disabled that caused it to cut the pay of 472 Teaching Assistants by 23 per cent.

That Council has even managed to erect at least one bus stop where there no longer was a bus service.

Sadly, that represents the mentality of most Labour MPs, to whom, like Margaret Thatcher, public transport is for losers.

Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it.

It has become a local commonplace that I am on 30-30-30 with Labour and the Conservatives here at North West Durham, so that any one of us could be the First Past the Post.

I will stand for this seat, if I can raise the £10,000 necessary to mount a serious campaign. Please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.
