Windsor and Maidenhead has not built any affordable housing since 1999. A large number of the homeless are military combat veterans, just as Prince Harry is. The root of most homelessness is of course poverty, and people who persistently refuse help obviously need mental health interventions.
One might have expected those things to be known to a member of the board of the Homes and Communities Agency. Whether or not he retains that position is up to the Member of Parliament for Maidenhead. Not as such, but because she is the Prime Minister.
