If Roy Moore were a Democrat, or even a liberal Republican, then he would rightly be toast, and he would probably be heading to jail. But consider, as we are supposed to look to the United States for global leadership against countries that routinely have minimum ages of 18 or higher for marriage, that 25 of the 50 states have no such minimum age at all, and that subsequent sexual activity, being marital, is perfectly legal. (Alabama, it must be said, is not one of those 25, by no means all of which are red or flyover.) The only other country with no minimum age whatever for marriage is Saudi Arabia. Now, there's a thing.
As for this boy in Manchester who sent a nude picture of himself to some girl who sent it on to her mates, are she and they also on some register? And at what age does a picture of a naked child, in and of itself, become illegal, since those of babies in the bath presumably are not? I mean that second question half-facetiously, since puberty does make an obvious difference. But I mean that first question in absolute seriousness.
A naked baby in the bath picture is a Level One indecent image. If an adult is present, it is Level 2.
ReplyDeleteWell done to the baby who took the photograph with no adult present.
