Seeing Red

Red Velvet has been granted a "one-off" extension of its licence until, and brace yourselves for this, 6am.

Who on God’s green earth wants to look at strippers at half past five in the morning?

Watson-Robson. Robson-Watson. That's the ticket.

  1. Are you sure of the Watson-Robson partnership? According to today's The Journal, Watson is in dispute with Robson over the building of the new academy in Consett because Watson wants it on the old Company fields [quite rightly, in my opinion] but Robson wants it on the Belle Vue site. It is also reported that Robson has helped to block Watson's selection as a Labour candidate for next year's Council elections and that Watson will probably have to stand as an Independent.

As an added comment, I wonder why Robson and Young are so determined to build the school on Belle Vue when nobody I know in the area wants it there. Are they supposed to be representing the views of the local people - or of someone else?

  2. Oh, there is plenty of dispute between them. I am not suggesting a "partnership".

But you will have two votes. And the combination of the two of them is exactly what Consett needs after next May's County Council elections. The county as a whole needs them both, since they are both available, as well.

There is the matter of persuading one of them to put up. Really something for people up the hill. But you'd be pushing at an open door.

  3. Let me enlighten you as to why...
Because we have paying customers who are quite happy to stay until that hour, oh and because the council and police granted us an extended licence to do that - thats why
Have you ever ventured to a lap dancing club? do you even know what happens inside a lap dancing club?
Your blog has ALWAYS been anti red velvet, from before it opened, to when it applied for its SEV licence
    What is your problem??
Your blog has provided us with many laughs at your pathetic thoughts and views on Red Velvet but it is getting very tiresome!
Instead of your constant childish posts on Red Velvet why don't you pause to consider; If the club wasn't wanted it would have folded due to lack of custom, if the club was illegal it would be banned, if the club wasn't allowed to apply for an extended licence it wouldnt.
Nevermind, I'm sure you'll provide us with many more laughs as we evolve our business and continue to prosper
