We were always going to have to hand back that purely leased territory. But we could and should have gone about it in an entirely different way.
Many of those Hong Kong Chinese who can, have relocated to Canada. Perhaps they will agitate to bring back the old Red Ensign flag from when Canada was a pioneering social democracy?
