Ruth Davidson was the Conservative candidate at the Glasgow North East by-election.
The Labour vote held up sufficiently to keep the seat. No surprise there, of course.
But the Conservative vote went down so far, and the BNP vote went up so far, that the two were practically even by the end.
So much for the BNP as a threat to Labour.
And so much for Ruth Davidson.

The Scottish Tory vote has mostly gone to the SNP and makes up most of the SNP vote. The Lib Dems got a bit before the Coalition, but those days are gone. You are right, though, the BNP got much of it at Glasgow North East. Was that only down to Davidson? If so, the Tories in Scotland are doomed like they have never been doomed before. Anybody who can drive Scots to British nationalism these days has one hell of a non-Midas touch.
ReplyDeleteWhat a thoroughly unpleasant comment. Ruth Davidson has been elected - a decent man would give her a chance. Just let's see what she can do without 'help' from the disappointed.
