Almazbek Atambayev, the President-elect of Kyrgyzstan, is adamant that the lease on the American airbase at Manas will not be renewed in 2014.

He says that it makes his country a potential target for America's military and paramilitary enemies. Of course, he is quite right. Would that a Prime Minister of the United Kingdom would speak and act likewise.

Furthermore, America and her citizens are made targets for military and paramilitary hostility by the existence of a global American military empire, which has not the slightest constitutional basis, but which is contrary to the manifold, express words of the Founding Fathers.
