Kelvin Mackenzie for Tory Leader?

He was as anti-war as Ken Clarke on Question Time. Peter Hain, meanwhile, tried to suggest that invading Iraq had enjoyed fifty per cent public support!

Compare Mackenzie, and indeed Clarke, to today's confused effort. Ostensibly promoting diplomacy over gung-ho military action, but all the while continuing to defend the Iraq misadventure, and more than hinting that overseas aid will be cut in order to spend more on weaponry.

And as with a "Department of Homeland Security", we are to have a "National Security Council" because Steve Hilton once heard it on The West Wing, or The Simpsons, or Sabrina The Teenage Witch, or something. What else are we to have? A Disney World?
