Comfort et Liesse?

The Edlington horror could have been averted, apparently. Really? It is difficult to avoid the impression that, so far as those supposed to look out for these things are concerned, the domestic violence, the drug addiction, the alcoholism, the exposure of tiny children to graphic horror films, and so on, are just how the lower orders behave. And, moreover, are not how the New Labour Classes behave. How else, after all, to justify the routine removal of children from the lower orders and their placement with the New Labour Classes? And the questioning of that would never do...
