Greedy Gideon

Like his Leader, he is as rich as Croesus despite never having had a job, but still took out a mortgage on an additional dwelling place so that he could charge it to you and me. Today, he stands exposed as having fiddled that into the bargain, but in a thoroughly cack-handed manner.

But then, we already knew that Osborne was both morally despicable and economically illiterate.

  1. Why do you call him Gideon?

  2. It's his name: George Gideon Oliver Osborne. So what, you may ask? So, he was called Gideon at school. I don't know why he changed it. Rather be taken for posh (which he is) than be taken for Jewish (which, so far as I know, he isn't)? I honestly don't know.

Edward VIII was known as David, the last of his seven Christian names, within the Royal Family. And in his bachelor days, when Prince Charles had invited a young lady up to his room, he would tell her that she could now stop calling him "Sir" and instead call him "Arthur". Does he plan to be King Arthur?

  3. from the BBC website:

"Mr Osborne acknowledged the breaches but said he had received "flawed" advice and not benefited personally ."

Can someone explain to me how having your mortgage interest paid for you doesn't benefit you personally.

Imagine if we could all buy a second home with an interest free mortgage.

  4. Yes, (he says, patiently) I know its his name. But it's not his chosen name now. So why do you refer to him as that now?

  5. What do you call the current Prime Minister? Is it James? Thought not.

  6. It's a hard G, so it goes better with "Greedy". And it was his chosen name. But now it isn't. What happened?

  7. Gordon Brown doesn't call himself James, and he never has.

Anything, I see, to avoid discussing the substance (always the case with Osborne...): the would-be Chancellor is not just a whore-loving cokehead, and he is not just a thief as well, he is an incompetent thief as well.

No wonder he is not allowed to be seen in public.

  8. yeah, let's call him Gideon. It is his name after all, even if he hasn't used it for years.

Plus, what's even better - and I'm sure David hasn't thought of this -is that Gideon is a Jewish name!! geddit? Gideon? Money? It's simply brilliant.

  9. Accy, I think you're onto something. I think he dropped it because it sounded Jewish. And that says an awful lot about him.

As does the fact that he is not just a whore-loving cokehead, and he is not just a thief as well, he is an incompetent thief as well.

No wonder he is not allowed to be seen in public.

  10. What's the betting on zero media coverage of this, same as with Cameron's dodgy mortgage?
