Though Many Censured His Delays?

It was at 9:32pm that Bell Ribiero-Addy tweeted: "I am putting myself forward to stand as Deputy Leader of the Labour Party. I look forward to explaining why, over the three short and undemocratic days we have to do so." At 8:25, 8:40, 8:53 and 9:10, she had cast proxy votes on behalf of the MP whose Chief of Staff she had been, Diane Abbott. Also yesterday, Andy Burnham effectively announced not only his Leadership candidacy, but also his formidable campaign machine. The General Election feels like a very long time ago.

Just as there is no evidence that Palestine Action has ever attacked anyone with a sledgehammer, so the Police cannot produce any in support of their claim to have been subjected to "punches, kicks, spitting and objects being thrown" by octogenarian clergywomen and by blind wheelchair-users. Welcome back to Orgreave. As soon as Your Party had been formally constituted, then the insinuation of ties to Palestine Action will be used to proscribe it as a terrorist organisation. Unlike anything that had given a standing ovation to Lucy Connolly. "Police the streets, not the tweets," Nigel? Tell that to Nadine.

Jacob Rees-Mogg is treating us to his wishlist of things that his then, and still nominal, party had long enough to do. But this is really his pitch to be the latest Boris Johnson courtier to join Reform UK. I have never seen such entryism, and not even in Jeremy Corbyn's Labour Party did the Leadership welcome it so enthusiastically. Likewise, while I have heard and read some conspiracy theories in my time, the Fabian Society? Really? Have you ever met them? Clearly not.

  1. Braverman has had to rule out defecting to Reform.

    1. There have always been people who were so left-wing that they could only be Labour because no Marxist party would take them. There is now the same phenomenon on the Right.
