Arm Banned?

What a beautiful Eve of Armageddon. The lobster and the steak this week, then. Perhaps even the first cigar in many years, if it is going to be the last ever.

This is the photograph that General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has rather oddly just tweeted to himself. It is of himself.

Meanwhile, to make up for the bombing of the Nord Stream pipelines, Germany is paying South Africa for the coal that it had already paid it to stop using. Europeans are allowed coal, but Africans are not, not even when the coal is African. The Global South is indeed a different thing from "the international community" that is supposedly "united" behind the Ukrainian side in this war between, as most wars are, two or more lots of baddies.

  1. Two sets of baddies? Nobody serious thinks Volodomyr Zelensky is a "baddie" nor is he anything like his tyrannical invader Vladimir Putin. In fact, he is by all accounts a humble and decent man elected on a platform of peace, who is nobly defending his nationa against an aggressive and immoral invader.

    1. By whose accounts? He chooses to depend on overt Nazis (the people who confirm the photograph in this post have been consistently right while those decrying it are either proven dupes or proven liars), and now also on imported IS jihadis. More politicians from Ukraine than from any other single country were named in the Panama Papers, and Zelensky, who was a stand-up comedian three years ago, is now a dollar billionaire. He has outlawed, and he is mercilessly suppressing, all trade unions, all independent media, and a raft of opposition parties covering a very broad ideological spectrum.
