It is nearly three years since this site first advocated the public ownership of Openreach. As for free broadband, now that it is on the agenda, then one way or another it is bound to happen. The Conservatives will jeer at it until the second that they do it, at which point their media will announce that it was obviously common sense and a patriotic duty.
But there will still be the Liberal Democrats, and there will still be the Blairite 85 per cent of Labour MPs. Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. I am standing for Parliament here at North West Durham.
