Drawing Down

Of course the Trump Administration is talking to "the Taliban", meaning that the war in Afghanistan was all for nothing. That is how these things always end. Alas, though, scarcely a soul in the next House of Commons will understand what once almost all MPs would have understood implicitly.

Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. I am standing for Parliament here at North West Durham. The crowdfunding page is here, and buy the book here. Please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.

  1. In 2001 the Taliban virtually eliminated poppy cultivation in afghanistan at a cost to the UK taxpayer of zero pounds & zero pence. a few years later newlabour got members of our armed services to drop large amounts of ordnance on their kids as part of operations in helmand which cost over £40 bill [£40,000,000,000.00] plus 450+ service personnel dead & thousands with life-changing injuries & countless afghan casualties.

the Taliban needed to buy guns to fight the infidel invaders & relaxed their fatwa so opium production could be informally taxed. now its over 3 times the level it was before, leading to record low prices & high purities on UK pavements, which is partially behind soaring drug deaths as well as having a fair amount of impact - nearly £2 bill a year - on the struggling NHS

    1. forgot to mention around 40% of uk prisoners are inside for crimes to fund smack habits. if that supply had dried up in afghanistan they'd have had little choice but to get on methadone or quit for good, saving the justice system billions, some of which could have been spent on keeping better tabs on jihidis like we saw on friday - assuming they'd have ever become radicalised in the first place.
