If the main shareholders in the things that are being talked about for nationalisation really are pension schemes, then the government bonds with which they would be issued ought to suit them down to the ground. Government bonds are not very exciting. But when it comes to the investment of people's pensions, then excitement is the very last thing that anyone needs.
Hardly anyone in politics understands this. Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it.
