The endorsement of Change UK by Andrew Rawnsley is its endorsement by Tony Blair. Rawnsley has been His Master's Voice for nearly 30 years. And this line is truly precious:
Other aspiring Change candidates are people with no previous affiliation. These include people in jobs in public service or the business world, which they will have to give up if they publicly declare a party allegiance.
Pull the other one. Standing for this outfit, in the full knowledge that you are not going to be elected, is a way of getting on in those circles, the way becoming a Freemason used to be.
Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it.
It has become a local commonplace that I am on 30-30-30 with Labour and the Conservatives here at North West Durham, so that any one of us could be the First Past the Post.
