We wouldn't have lasted five minutes.

Mind you, that was where I recently met Tom Slater.

The University's internal online directory, the one that is not accessible without a University account and which for several years described me as "Emeritus" in my mid-thirties, is once again calling me "Administrative Staff" this year.

Although time was when it called me "Academic/Management Staff", I do seem to have been brought out of retirement. To what purpose, I shall let you know.

Durham is a very special place.
