Everyone is talking about Burnham-Watson.
Everyone might very well be right.
Forget the "gender balance" thing. People might just about have put up with a forced female Deputy if the Leader were male. Or vice versa, come to that.
But they would never endure any such restriction on the top job. And the momentum for Tom is now quite unstoppable.
