Rights and Wrongs

Any repeal of the Human Rights Act could not apply in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.

The HRA is written into the devolution legislation and into the Good Friday Agreement, which latter is in turn underpinned by international treaty.

Repeal in England alone would in turn be politically impossible to sell in England.

So, that's that, then. Not going to happen.

Michael Gove's catalogue of heavily trailed disasters at Education is the stuff of legend. In his brief time as Chief Whip, two MPs joined UKIP.

And now, this.

Gove is paraded as this Government's resident intellectual for no better reason than the sheer want of anyone else.
