Do people really buy kosher or halal meat from the big supermarket chains? They cannot be all that fussy, then.
I agree with Shechita UK that, "'Rather than saying just “stunned,” it should say “electrocuted”, “gassed” or “shot with a bolt gun”. Then consumers will be fully informed."
Kosher and halal meat more than bear comparison with our own meat production practices.
Do the Middle East's ancient indigenous Christians eat halal meat? If so, then there cannot be anything wrong with it in principle.
Israel, meanwhile, is now so desperate that she is importing Russians who refuse on principle to eat kosher meat. Oh, well, at least they are not Arabs, eh...?
Even if none of the above were true, then the matter of animal slaughtering methods would pale into insignificance next to that of the genital mutilation of male infants.
Such mutilation is being inflicted by force on Christian men and boys by David Cameron's on-off allies in Northern Iraq and Eastern Syria. It is always inflicted by force on a boy who is only a few days old.

Of course animals matter. But, of course, people matter more.
What have we become, that how animals are slaughtered for meat is considered important while the genital mutilation of infants is not?
