What does it say about white culture in Britain today, that there were girls in a position to be exploited in this way? Where were their families? Where was the wider community? Where was the State, from the school, to the surgery, to the police, to the social services department?

I agree.
ReplyDeleteBut there is no moral high ground. A lot of very nice middle class white men in Britain and Ireland abuse young women trafficked from Eastern Europe, Asia and West Africa.
They also show a marked lack of respect for women themselves and those from different ethnic communities.
Its a very difficult subject on which to blog. I have struggled with it for 24 hours now, lest anything I say is misinterpreted.
What I can say is that the Media is more....restrained..than when discussing abuse in Catholic Church.
Open Season on Catholics.
But not quite on others.
