Not Islam, But Islamabad

Not to say Kabul, or at any rate everywhere in Afghanistan outside Kabul.

The "Taliban" are being directed by the ISI, which means the Pakistani generals, who are the real, permanent government of Pakistan, where politicians are not even allowed the nuclear codes.

The "Taliban" are for all practical purposes indistinguishable from the Pakistani Army at large, and are utterly indistinguishable from the Afghan Army. "Taliban" Greater Pakistan is coming to be, the last hope of Jinnah's upper-class eccentric theory of a distinct Muslim nation on the Subcontinent.

"Who knew?" Who the hell didn't?

  1. Jinnah had very few roots in the "Muslim nation", being a fairly accidental Karachi Muslim whose background was mostly among the Hindus in Gujarat.
