10 Is Too High A Price

If the Lib Dems had more votes but fewer seats than Labour, then Clegg's price would be the Premiership. Only that, if anything, could hold his party together if it went into coalition with its archenemy in, as much as anywhere else, Clegg's own constituency. But Labour would never accept that, so there would be no deal. And therefore a second Election in the autumn, or possibly even earlier.
