So Many Deaths For So Few Votes
We wouldn't be in this mess if we had either, never mind both, of a party which insisted on, among other things, international co-operation based on peace (which itself needs to be defended), and a party which insisted on, among other things, the fallacy of grand schemes to make the world anew.

Yes.
ReplyDeleteYes the percentage of Afghans who voted last week was much the same as the percentage who take an interest in parish elections in Durham.
Therefore Democracy doesnt work....at least thats the logic of the naysayers. Not mine of course.
With that kind of interest levels Afghanistan should apply for membership of the European "Union" (whatever that is) as Turkey is also in Asia......it makes perfect sense.
Who ever fought a war specifically so that there could be Parish Council elections in County Durham? There might be a higher turnout if anyone ever had.
ReplyDeleteAnd our turnout is still higher than that in Helmand to elect the President of Afghanistan. Yes, there's really is as low as that.
Azerbaijan apparently aspires to EU and NATO membership, so why not Afghanistan?
Well Israel already competes in European football and Eurovision Song Contest and denies the fact that it is actually in the Middle East.
ReplyDeleteIn the old white Seth Effrikken mindset .....South Africa was actually between England and Holland.
There are still Australians who think they are British.
So no real reason to exclude Azeraijan and Afghanistan from "Europe". They can have chairs either side of Israel.
Anything that brings an end to "Europe" should be welcomed so I for one would welcome them.
