Near To, But Separate From?

There used to be a running gag in The Spectator that Mary Wakefield was going to marry Taki. Perhaps she should have done?

Boris Johnson has been sacked twice for lying, a record that would have made anyone else unemployable. Durham Constabulary has no conceivable reason to lie about Dominic Cummings. I have no doubt which of them I believe.

But will Cummings survive? Well, the moral authority who was brought out to denounce him on air today was Alastair Campbell. We cannot be far off hearing from Tony Blair again. And in any case, we have now arrived at pure decadence.

At the height of the media's infatuations with the Blair and Cameron Governments, then the next days' duty Ministers were not publicly sent the interview questions the night before. How did I never make it as a journalist? A combination of "This" and "I haven't yet".
