Consult This

Ulster Resistance has never so much as declared a ceasefire, yet the chairman of its founding rally is now a DUP MP alongside the daughter of one of its three leading gunrunners.

But leaving aside even that, it is taken as a given that when the DUP is consulted on anything, and it is now consulted on everything, then it in turn consults the UDA and the UVF.

Both of those are proscribed terrorist organisations. That is to say, they are illegal. Mere membership of them is an imprisonable offence. By the last days of the Troubles, they were killing more people than the IRA was.

Yet by such are we now governed. Remember that when Jeremy Corbyn, for all his faults, is called "a terrorist sympathiser" or what have you. The Conservative Party remains in office on the votes of actual, active terrorists.

Active? Is that not a bit strong? Well, when the UDA and the UVF get the vote out for the DUP, and it openly owes at least one of its seats to those efforts, then in what terms do they express themselves?

Furthermore, Corbyn's Labour enemies also routinely have some very colourful contacts in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere. The Jo Cox Foundation funds the White Helmets. Is that even legal? If it is, then it ought not to be.

Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. A new party is now in the process of registration.

After nearly 30 years of suggestion, speculation, and even a sort of preparation, I will stand for Parliament here at North West Durham. The crowdfunding page is here, and buy the book here. Please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.
