Only the BBC would pay my old friends Manveen Rana and Jonah Fisher to do their sterling work, so I am not going to join in the latest chorus of execration against it. Just do not watch the forthcoming hatchet job. I for one have absolutely no intention of doing so, and nor will very many other people.
The accusation of anti-Semitism is the milkshake-throwing of the people at whom milkshake is thrown. Those of us who opposed the Iraq War were called anti-Semites every day for about 10 years by the likes of Nick Cohen, David Aaronovitch, Oliver Kamm and Stephen Pollard.
Ah, yes, Stephen Pollard, best known for recording a blind man without his knowledge, and now the Editor of a newspaper that is written and read solely by people who would only ever consider voting for the Conservative Party candidate for anything.
Pollard takes to another such newspaper to warn its readers not to vote for a party of which they have never knowingly met a member, and this is considered a killer blow to that party's Leader. As, no doubt, will be the latest ridiculous contribution by the BBC.
With the increasing treatment of the previously unheard of IHRA Definition as if it were somehow the law of the land, we are moving towards a hierarchy of "race" in Britain. Just so long as they hold the pro-Netanyahu line, then non-Haredi Ashkenazi Jews are at the top of that tree, whiter than white; they were classified as white in apartheid South Africa, which settles the matter of whether or not they are.
Nobody voted for this. Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. A new party is now in the process of registration. And I will stand for Parliament here at North West Durham even if I can raise only the deposit, which I could do by going pretty overdrawn, although that was not how I was brought up. I would still prefer to raise the £10,000 necessary to mount a serious campaign, but I am no longer making my candidacy conditional on having done so.
