Insulting Our Intelligence

Hear the deafening silence around the travails of Benjamin Netanyahu, Leader of the Conservative Party, Leader of the Parliamentary Labour Party, Commander-in-Chief of the British Armed Forces, Director-General of the British Intelligence and Security Services, Editor-in-Chief of every broadcaster apart from RT, and Editor-in-Chief of every national newspaper apart from the Morning Star.

Instead, we have white noise from one Alex Younger, who thinks that he was created by Ian Fleming or at least by Evelyn Waugh, when in fact it was P.G. Wodehouse who threw away the first draft of him. Like Robert Mueller, in whom we are to have such confidence, Younger and the agency that he now heads lied us into the Iraq War and into its never-ending aftermath of chaos and catastrophe.

Younger is not really much interested in foreign policy at all. He wants to prevent a Government that might compel his own caste to pay some tax, and that in order to give any kind of opportunity to anybody else. The 77th Brigade is the same. The whole thing is the same. They know perfectly well that there is no threat to Britain from Russia. What bothers them is the threat to their own wealth and privilege from Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell.

If they were less inbred, then they might realise that their intelligence-insulting drivel about Salisbury served only to underline the idiocy of their claims about Russia. Last night, BBC Two broadcast an important documentary, Gun No. 6. Firearms, and indeed motor vehicles, are able to be obtained by two-bit Birmingham gangsters and by the kind of people who hold up Post Offices in Worcestershire villages. Yet we are expected to believe that they are beyond the means of the mighty GRU.

The GRU of which we are nevertheless expected to be terrified, even though, since no one has been charged in relation to the death of Dawn Sturgess, it is apparently incapable of killing anyone even by accident, still less on purpose. As for the so-called Islamic State, it is Russia that has brought it to the brink of annihilation on Syria, whereas we arm it, we train it, and we inform it, by arming, training and informing Saudi Arabia.

Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. I will stand for this parliamentary seat of North West Durham, if I can raise the £10,000 necessary to mount a serious campaign. Please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.
