During his much-televised visit to Ain al-Assad, Donald Trump asked to meet the Iraqi President, the Prime Minister, and the Speaker.
They all refused, on behalf of a country into which the President of the United States has to sneak in the dead of night, lest he be mobbed by the adoring throng of the "liberated".
