Thinking In Centuries

From the IRA and the INLA, to the Loyalist paramilitaries and the British Army, they all might as well have stayed at home.

This was always going to be happen. Right about now. We can now see that that has been clear for 100 years.

It is demographic. It always has been. There never needed to be anything to hasten it, which in point of fact the IRA campaign did not do. It was always going to happen. Right about now.

This has been coming for 100 years, and the people who talked the Unionists into accepting partition, which they had not originally wanted, always knew that.

The Unionists cannot stretch beyond the occasional bit of civil unrest without the backing of Britain, which they would not have if they had lost their majority.

If, these days, at all. Britain has never really wanted them, and certainly would not fight a second time to keep them.
