Lost In The Post

On this Postal Workers' Day, the reason why the Royal Mail cannot be made to issue a stamp commemorating British withdrawal from the EU, apart from the fact that it has not yet happened, is that the Royal Mail has been privatised. On the orders of the EU. But with the enthusiastic support of those who are now demanding a Brexit stamp.

We implemented maternity leave, holiday pay, equality law, and a 40-hour minimum working week "on the orders of the EU". But with the enthusiastic support of Tony Benn, and Gisela Stuart, who also supported leaving the EU.

    Go figure, as they say.

  2. Since the British Left supports every single EU-inspired law-from the Climate Change Act to the Equality Act-Labour's official position on Brexit (expressed by Keir Starmer on the Andrew Marr Show is: "Labour accept the referendum result...but we wish to stay under the European Court of Justice, retain all EU law and continue implementing all future EU laws forever."

    How does that work?

    1. You are confused. It's the Tories who, as some of us predicted, want to turn this country into a mere colony of the EU. Opposed by precisely one of their MPs. One.
