Black and Blue

Some collection of embittered old Blairite has-beens and never-weres has apparently brought out some crock of the usual called In The Black, and have secured a spot in the ever-amenable Guardian from which to peddle it.

David Miliband, who wrote the entire Coalition programme and then some when he was running Tony Blair’s Policy Unit but who could not get it past Gordon Brown, did not win the Labour Leadership. Labour has been ahead in the polls ever since he didn’t. These people need to get over it.

Why don’t they join a party that they agree with? There are two to choose from, although one of them won’t be in office after 2015, while the other won’t be in the House of Commons.

  2. I have no idea.

But I stand more chance than the authors of In The Black do. Not that that is saying anything.

  3. They are despicable, accusing Gordon Brown of causing the deficit. But it was a lower proportion of GDP in 2008 than in 1997. Until the GLOBAL BANKING crisis hit us.

I hope you do get into one House one way or the other. You should already be there. Looking forward to lots of things about your next book, but especially the hatchet job on Blair.
