Back To School

It seems that not every penny of the discontinued Building Schools for the Future Programme is going to paid into Toby Young's bank account while he pretends to be a Head Teacher. Half of it is going to be paid into Katherine Birbalsingh's bank account while she pretends to be a Head Teacher. Do not expect either to have so many calls on their time that their lucrative and influential media careers might be affected.

Birbalsingh, to be fair, did used to be a Deputy Head. For all of five weeks. But some Governing Body did appoint her. One day, her luscious locks will be shaved off, recalling those Frenchwomen who had slept with German soldiers during the Occupation. But even before that, she owes those who paid it the full cost of her training and of her continuous professional level, all the way up to potential Acting Head Teacher level.

Perhaps the payment of that debt might be deducted from her share of what was formerly the budget for school improvements the length and breath of England? In which case, what might be deducted from Toby Young's share, and why?

  1. Playing to the gallery again. Two councillors for Lanchester. One from the old Derwentside Labour establishment you praised in a comment yesterday. One from their old Derwentside Independent allies that you praised in the same comment. Three schools, two you used to go to, two you used to be a governor of, two Catholic. Not the same two in all three cases so you have some kind of connection to all of them.
