This Libya business has been very useful, since we are certainly not going to go to war there now, are we? I rather suspect, and indeed hope, that the SAS deliberately bungled this mission in order to be able to turn round and say, "Well, if even we cannot manage Libya, then there is no hope that anyone else is going to be able to". If that is so, then the SAS has done the nation a very great service, and is heartily to be congratulated.
