Take Control

Now for a really good cause to unite Labour (apart, as also on tuition fees, from the Blairite ultras), Lib Dem backbenchers and proper Tories. Both of what are now the Coalition parties have rightly always opposed control orders. They are unsafe. Terrorists should be convicted and imprisoned. A real one can easily remove a tag and vanish. Some controlees have already done so. The provision for control orders has to be renewed by Parliament each year. Let it not be renewed next time. And let the provision itself then be repealed.
