Mr London, Mr Labour: Mr Livingstone

"He's expelled himself! He's expelled himself!" No, he hasn't, sweetiepies. I think you'll find that it is from Denis MacShane, of the Euston Manifesto and of the Henry Jackson Society, that the Labour Whip has been withdrawn.

Whereas Ken Livingstone will not only be at this month's meeting of the National Executive Committee, for which he topped the poll, but he looks set fair to secure the readmission of Lutfur Rahman after Rahman's defeat of a Labour candidate imposed only because he was a Bengali Muslim, and only because his imposition had been ordered by the ultra-nationalist governing party of Bangladesh.

That said, Rahman's supporters did vote for him specifically as an Independent. And why would he want to rejoin the Labour Party, anyway?
