Trussed Up

Elizabeth Truss, as she now apparently prefers to be called, was on Newsnight last night. As the young people say, "Oh. My. God." Was she a spoof? Or had she just had too much of the hospitality? Poor Phillip Blond and some Labour MP whose tie wasn't straight. They had to sit beside her. At least it wasn't for hours on a train, or anything like that. Is the whole of the new intake like her? Heaven help us all.

    How can she have won? Didn't you predict she didn't have a chance? Or have I just answered my own question?

    Oh, if Sir Jeremy had not been so worried about a hung Parliament, I'm told.

    But that has happened anyway.
