Putting The D Into DUP

Here:

Even if he fails to secure an outright majority, it is understood Mr Cameron is preparing to “go it alone” and form a minority government. The Tories are confident an informal understanding with unionist MPs from Ulster could secure Mr Cameron a safe passage with his key early Commons battles, including getting a first Queen’s Speech and Budget passed. Last night, the Conservative leader said that, with three days before polling day, the momentum was now with him.

Really? Their own UUP allies could quite conceivably win no seats at all this time, and will certainly have far fewer than the DUP, the party of the Protestant working class, whose voters are about as keen on Cameron's promised slash-and-burn attitude to public spending in Northern Ireland as anyone here is on Cameron's promised slash-and-burn attitude to public spending in the North East. Nor is the DUP noted either for its social liberalism or for its Europhilia.
