If global warming is the excuse that people need in order to make them feel happy about this, then so be it. A price worth paying, in this instance. At least at the start.
Agriculture, manufacturing, small business, local variation, local pride, national sovereignty, full employment: these endlessly interrelated things are conservative. Capitalism is not.
