The Strong Man In Kabul?

"He's corrupt, and he rigged his re-election, but at least he's in charge."

Really?

  1. First of all I extend my best wishes to five families so tragically bereaved today. I wonder if Km Howells knew this last night.
I have been out all evening at meetings so been away from the TV screen.
Yet I heard the event denounced as cold blooded murder but the thought crosses my mind that had the SAS infiltrated a Taliban base...it would not be so called.

Sadly cold blooded murder is part of War. But this went beyond War...it was Treachery.
I stated on a few occasions on my own Blog...and comments here that a major event was waiting to happen......I envisaged perhaps a plane crash (troop carrier)but I think this incident qualifies as the Tipping Point (I hate that cliché). Howells looks for away out Ainsworth talks about a need to see progress in a matter of months.
And can it be true that 60% of the Afghan Police are DRUG ADDICTS?
Can it be true that the man responsible for killing five British soldiers was a policeman before he joined Taliban "for a few months" before re-joining the Police?
    THIS IS MADNESS.
Meanwhile in the Commons the MPS are worked up into a frenzy......about the new Expenses regime.
