Per Adua Ad Astra

Good for the people of Wootton Bassett, holding their regular events to pay tribute to the fallen in Iraq and Afghanistan. And good for the RAF, holding today’s parade there to return the compliment.

But a trick was missed.

Everyone serving in either of those pointless, unwinnable, insanely counterproductive wars should have turned up and marched through those Wiltshire streets, thereby indicating to the television audience that they had acted to defend this Realm, precisely by returning to its shores.

By simple moral authority, and without a shot’s needing to be fired, they would indeed so defend, by bringing crashing down this country’s rancid Political Class.
