ReplyDeleteAs one of those listed by name, I think this is highly unethical. I also think your attempts to goad the Eustonites look ever more unreasonable. You have to realise that lots of ludicrous claims have been made in the past about the Euston Group, and people who want to be taken seriously would do well to avoid going down that route.
Well, then, why don't you answer my specific points as made further up the page, i.e., in later posts?

And "taken seriously" by whom? Forgive me if I couldn't care less whether or not I am "taken seriously" by those who cheered this country into the Iraq War!
Firstly, "highly unethical" was too harsh. I should have said "rather", or "somewhat".
ReplyDeleteI don't think you made any specific points in the piece in question, and I can't read a dozen later ones to establish why you think a bunch of individuals, who have no more political power than you do (perhaps less), ought to be singled-out on the basis of personal political views. You don't support witch-hunts, do you?

That's up to you, but what does it have to do with the Euston Group, who were roughly equally split for/against the invasion? Lazy assumptions like that are not helpful if you want to engage with Eustonites, rather than "neo-con" stereotypes.
