Turning It Off And On Again

You do not know the meaning of "Educate, Agitate, Organise" unless it has earned you stripes to equal my incarcerations, the attempts to murder me, and all the rest of what you know and what you never will. Likewise, Graham Linehan can and should tell ostensibly edgy comedians that unless they had been arrested by five armed policemen, then they were, as the young people said, larping, or cosplaying, or whatever was now the word.

Where is the Irish Embassy in all of this? And the Queen is applauded for having told Boris Johnson, of all people, that, "I did what my mother taught me to. I took off my shoe and whacked him in the nuts with the heel." Yet Linehan is arrested, and banned from Twitter as the sole condition of his bail, for having tweeted, "If a trans-identified male is in a female-only space, he is committing a violent, abusive act. Make a scene, call the cops and if all else fails, punch him in the balls."

Although it is worth pondering why they were not fleeing to Canada, American liberal moneybags are either fleeing to Britain or planning to do so. A special visa route for them, akin to those for Hongkongers, for Ukrainians, and for some Afghans, is proposed by the third largest party in the House of Commons. But what of those fleeing to the United States of JD Vance, a 79-year-old heartbeat away from the Presidency?

  1. I don’t think police can set a bail condition forbidding access to Twitter. Residence, reporting in, no contact - sure, but they can’t completely ban you from a social media platform.

I suspect we haven’t heard the last of this.

  2. This incident has made even Owen Jones look reasonable compared to the people defending it.

    1. Didn't those people want to defund the Police?
