Smoke and Mirrors?

Tobacco is the only legal product that will kill you if you use it exactly according to the manufacturer's specifications. Anti-smoking measures have transformed this country in the 30 years between my adolescence and my middle age. An Oasis reunion, you say?

Yet tobacco is legal, and the Government is reaching for this sort of thing in order to fill up its time while it refuses to tackle economic inequality. The lengths to which people will go for their fix are lost on me, so I am amazed that they are allowed to smoke in hospital grounds or in children's play areas. But if not outside on licensed premises, then where? On the main road? That is a more public place.

And no one is doing anything about the fact that Britain now stinks of rightly illegal cannabis. In view of the success of the campaign against nicotine, why not? Enforce the existing law before enacting a new one.
