Going Deep

Cumbria County Council is Labour-led, and all three parties voted for the new coal mine, which is at least officially and initially to serve the steel industry. What do you think that wind turbines are made out of? In the end, though, everything else in the all-of-the-above energy policy is ancillary to civil nuclear power, and to the clean coal technology in which Britain was the world leader until the Miners' Strike. This is what we have a State for.

Clearly, all three parties know this. People who dispute it can vote Green. But if you wanted someone who would say it out loud, and who would brook no compromise either on this or on the closely related all-of-the-above transport policy based around renationalised railways that ran on the electricity thus generated, then I am the Independent parliamentary candidate for North West Durham.
