19 years after the death of his father, how does Toby Young still work? He used to be a talentless hack from the right family, but now he is just a talentless hack.
Young is a eugenicist of international importance, who is also a self-confessed sexual assailant and supplier of Class A drugs, and whose involvement in eugenics has made him an associate of Emil Kirkegaard, himself an advocate of the rape of drugged children.
Like Kirkegaard, Young is a stalwart of the world of the London Conference on Intelligence, the Ulster Institute for Social Research, and Mankind Quarterly. Yet he was given a loud voice in education policy for many years, and a major formal role in education was very nearly given to him three years ago.
The Ulster Institute for Social Research is based at the perfectly respectable University of Ulster, as Mankind Quarterly also at least used to be, while the London Conference on Intelligence is held at the world class University College London. One of our most prestigious seats of higher learning has been hosting the propagation of eugenics, attended by the man whom the Government had wanted to put in charge of the entire sector.
And now, Young's column in the Daily Telegraph, which seems to have no problem publishing such an person, has been found to have been "significantly misleading" for Young's claims that the common cold could provide "natural immunity" to Covid-19 and, last July, that London was "probably approaching herd immunity". Such misinformation is potentially fatal.
Indeed, the noise from that clique did lead to the premature lifting of the first lockdown, with all the deathly consequences that we continue to endure. If Boris Johnson had not been Prime Minister, then he would have been writing the same thing in the same place. He will certainly go back there when he no longer is Prime Minister. Meanwhile, the like-minded Covid Recovery Group consists of 70 MPs from Johnson's own party, and over the last day or so it has been rattling the sabre of a Leadership challenge.
