It is just as well that we can barely go to the pub up here, because otherwise they would resemble the taverns in many areas in the early part of 1649, as the news filtered through about the beheading of Charles I.

If there has to be another national lockdown, then there has to be another national lockdown. But no way in the world are you less likely to catch Covid-19 in London than you are in rural and small town County Durham, to cite only the part of the North that I know best. That simply cannot be true.
